Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding is the track that changed everything. I can remember being eight years old when my cousin first played Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album. Being eight, the funerary bells and the wind at the start of Funeral For A Friend, combined with the album gatefold illustrations did more than unnerve me a little, but I knew this was something special, something life changing. This track combined with Love Lies Bleeding blew me away. I have probably gone back to this song more than any other one. I did an acoustic cover of Love Lies Bleeding just because the song means so much to me. Instead of starting with Funeral For A Friend however, I started this song with a snippet of Circus Intro by David Hentschel, who did the original intro to Funeral For A Friend. David was kind enough to write us an intro to Same Circus, Different Town several years ago, and it was such an amazing thrill. I couldn't not have used it in the intro of this song.
