This is the third collaboration with Frzy and Damaged Pies. The idea of these songs has always been to work with such an amazing artist and friend as Frzy. Besides being an amazing talent, he is also one of the most wonderful people I have met, so this is always a thrill. Working also with some other hugely talented individuals on this track has really been amazing. On vocals is the fantastic Megan Paullet. Megan has brought so much to the music of Damaged Pies and Meg and Steve over the years, she is talented beyond words. On guitar is Mark Pintea, Jr. Junior's talents on guitar and especially acoustic are beyond comprehension for me. I knew when writing the track that I wanted him on acoustic and his 12 string work helps to make the track. On percussion is my long time running mate and drummer and brother Mark Pintea, Sr. I love Mark's percussion work and really wanted to showcase this on the track. He beyond impressed. On bass is Jim McCabe. A great friend and partner in crime for so long. Having Jim is just so steady, he anchors everything he does with such a steady, yet melodic sense.
The production side was again handled by Matt Firek who is as much a part of these songs as anyone. Matt is an engineer, a producer and a collaborator essential to the success of each project we have done.
The song itself was inspired by seeing the sun come through the windows of my late mom's apartment. She always kept the place so dark and on the last day of cleaning the place out after she passed, I opened the blinds and the sun came in. I started to think about an elderly woman sitting in this apartment thinking back to her younger years and what made her happy. I then went to a woman who danced as a child and it led to this song.
