Pittsburgh Musicians for Hunger Relief was started in 1991 to aid an Export, Pennsylvania farmer Bill Tylavsky in his efforts to maintain his donor garden for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The efforts spawned four Bill Aid concerts and a charity single, No Reason. This new charity single The Lights on Grant is another song to benefit hunger relief, in particular WhyHunger and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The single was recorded at Goblin Soup Studios in Pittsburgh, Pa and was written by Steve Bodner of The Damaged Pies, and produced and engineered by Steven E. Adams. The song featured Katie Simone on vocals, Steve Bodner on guitars and Steven E. Adams on everything else. Katie is an amazing singer and she lends soulful vocals to this song about Pittsburgh. Steven E. Adams is a veteran of many bands including The Critics, The Prestons and The Convertible Jerks. Steve is one of the most talented musicians I know and he is a great friend. This song could not have happened without him.
There is an accompanying video to this song shot by ian Bodner a 16 year old aspiring filmmaker from Murrysville, Pa. The artwork is by award winning artist Francis Cleetus. The project was underwritten by Burns White, LLC.
